The cleaning team made short work of the Wickham, with it having an external wash, and attention paid to the inside of the windows. The 108 windows also received the same treatment later on.

The front of 50528 has been treated to some new metal, filler, and needle gunning. The false destination blind cover has been stripped down as well as the glass was broken during the work. A loose fire extinguisher bracket in 50454 was also attended to.

56456 is now fully water tight, after a couple of holes near the rear of the vehicle have been plated over. The vehicle is now ready to shunt back behind the shed for work to continue on the interior fit-out.


The underside of 51933 was also worked on, with various bits and pieces tidied up, and some odd discoveries like why the auto isolating valve had no cover; because when it's fitted it's impossible to adjust with the fuel tank fitted!

The pile of spare jumpers has also been worked on, with many disassembled, and needle gunned.

The "new" 108 had attention in a couple of places this weekend, work was progressed on prep to fit the destination blind holders, and a couple of leaks on the exhaust where also sorted out. The No 1 alternator also wasn't doing much in the way of producing volts, this was sorted out with a repair to a wire.

In the 105 various small bits of timber have been fitted, it doesn't appear visually as though much progress is made, but this is all required to fit the wall panels to. Holes were drilled and tapped ready for more aluminium brackets to be fitted.

56223 was treated to a post Thomas clean. The rest of the six car will be done another time.


To tidy up the depot various containers of old oil have been grouped into a large barrel which will be collected by a waste disposal company.


50528 found it's way into the shed to have work done on the cab body front. This is to repair rust which has develped along the lower edge.

A busy week at Llangollen, with a six car set deployed onto the Thomas diagram. This was made up of the 104, 108, and 127/108.

The C exam on the Wickham was completed. The vac hose dummies have been removed, ready to be freed up to allow vac hoses to be connected a little easier. The set was also cleaned inside ready for use in service.

The spare, or missing seat, depending how you look at it, for the 108 recieved a final coat of gloss, we are just waiting on the seat back arriving to allow us to fit it.

The weekends big project was to get the roof of the Cravens painted. It was primed on Friday, undercoated Saturday, and glossed on Sunday. A small plate has also been fitted over a hole which was discovered post blasting.
