Work has progressed in the 105 with the remnants of the original metal brackets being ground off, before the clean metal was then painted over. More timber has been fitted into the 2nd vestibule, and the 3rd vestibule has had the panels removed.
Nearly all the old seats from the centre saloon of 50528 have been removed. While a team worked to assemble the new seats ready to be installed. While the saloon is empty, we will take the opportunity to do a deep clean, and tidy up the ceiling and walls.
Another gala has just drawn to a close, and it looks to have been a success all round, with much better weather than last year.
The visitor this year was the Class 100 power twin set from the East Lancs Railway, and visitors had the treat of the 104 + 110 working together on Saturday morning.
The class 127 was also relaunched into service following the completion of the interior following on from the recent bodyworks and is seen here with the Wickham at Glyndyfrdwy.
Towards the end of the day on Sunday, some unusual sites took place at Llangollen with 51618 forming an ECS move to the depot solo. 50528 then followed suit, before 50454 coupled up to 56223 and formed a hybrid set back the depot. This is all to allow various works to take place between now and August.
