The Wickham received an "A" exam this weekend. The brake gear was adjusted, a couple of seat backs needed to be fixed back to the frames, and a hockey stick required some glue to fix it back together. The guards van door budget lock also received some attention. A clean was done inside, and a new member was introduced to many of the oily bits underneath.


50528 was tackled after lunch. With all of the snagging jobs completed to turn it back into a functional vehicle. The remaining seats being reattached to the floor.

56223, and 50454 then had some attention from the cleaning team, before the 104 was reformed, and 56223 replaced into the shed.

The Wickam ran on Monday, Friday and Saturday. Two special visitors joined for a trip on Saturday who had worked at the Wickham works.


All of the work was watched carefully by the depot supervisor!

On Saturday The 104/108 hybrid worked on the standard passenger diagram at Llangollen. While the Wickham was used on three driver experience trips.

On Sunday Pentrefelin became a hive of activity as various members tackled various jobs...


An errant window scissor, a drivers budget door lock where replaced. While thee more tricky job of stripping down and reassmbling the brake valve in one of the cabs was completed.


The light fittings in 50528's centre saloon where put up, the varnishing of the saloon finished, kick plates and heater covers refitted. Several of the seats have also been refitted, and the vehicle is starting to look like a much nicer version of its former self.

In the Cravens the luggage rack on the 2nd mans side meantioned previously was drilled and bolted up. The first section of timber luggage rack support was then fitted in the centre saloon. This involves some quite fiddly work to allow the frame to vit behind the vestibule partition wall.
